I am coming from a Wordpress background and am looking into Ruby based CMS's. Locomotive seems to be on the top of list as of now. I am wondering if it is possible to have flexible fields in a content type. I call them flexible fields because I am used to the Advanced Custom Fields plugin for wordpress and using their terminology.

I set up a metafield with a boolean value and used it to control display of a portion of a page inside the tag {% if %}. I set it up in my config file using true or false for the default values, and the page displays in Wagon as I would expect based on the value I set. But when I push the site to the engine, the value I set using the back office makes no difference in the display of the page. The portion of the page I'm trying to control displays regardless of the value. I'm wondering if I have a fundamental misunderstanding of something.

What's the best way to create a page nav in a layout to show only the child pages of which ever page the layout is applied to?

Does sections support filters? How do can I limit size of characters in text attribute of section?
